ABSTRACTThe Sympathetic nervous systems (SNS) is an efferent division of the Autonomic nervous system (ANS) with neurons which anatomically originates in the central nervous system (CNS). It has a short preganglionic neuron which comes from the thoracic and lumbar regions (T1 to L2) (also termed, thoracolumbar outflow) of the spinal cord. The axons of the postganglionic neuron extend from these ganglia to the tissues that they innervate and regulate. In most cas...
ABSTRACTNitric oxide is produced in high amount from the break down of arginine by a group of enzyme called nitric oxide synthase. Nitric oxide is an intercellular messenger that has been recognized as one of the versatile player in the immune system. Cells of the innate immune system such as macrophages, neutrophil and natural killer use patterns recognition receptors to recognize the molecular patters associated with pathogens. The specific role nitric oxide plays depend on the place o...

OVERVIEWThe role of ACE inhibitors (Lisinopril) in reproductive function remains controversial. Some benefits seem to be derivable even in non-hypertensive males with low doses. This study was done using rat model to establish this fact. Male rats were divided into different groups to receive different doses of lisinopril. A control group received no drugs. The mean arterial pressure fell the most with 5mg of lisinopril. The greatest increase in sperm count and motility was recorded for this ...
