Study of Water Resource Management in Lahore

in a desert, so they were very concerned about water conservation .In Holy
Quran the word WATER has been used 63 times in Arabic word  Ma’. Water is a gift from God. Water is an
essential resource for all life on the planet. Of the water resources
on Earth only three percent of it is fresh and two-thirds of the
freshwater is locked up in ice caps and glaciers. Of the remaining one percent,
a fifth is in remote. Much effort in water resource management is directed at
optimizing the use of water and in minimizing the environmental impact of water
use on the natural environment.  The
observation of water as an essential part of the flora and fauna is based on incorporated
water resource management, where the quantity and quality of the ecosystem help
to verify the nature of the natural resources.

would soon be a city with no water. There are 7.6 million people livein Lahore
and out of 70 %, just 30%water is supplied to the citizens of Lahore. That’s why
in Lahore water conservation is necessary otherwise it will become water scarce
city. The purpose of this paper is to give a general idea about deprived water
resource management in an elective way to deal with the crises of water
competence in Lahore.Beside
Lahore all the cities across the Pakistan are facing serious water challenges
and the situation is deteriorating with every passing day. This paper highlights
the poor management of Lahore’s water resources. The paper also says that due
to the over extraction, groundwater table is draining by around 0.55m (1.5 ft)
consistently. It included that Ravi River contributed 82 percent underground
water recharge highlighting the worth of the river in maintaining Lahore’s
aquifer.
